FAQ

How fresh is your coffee?

We roast your coffee the day after you order and post it the same day with Royal Mail, so it reaches you within days of roasting.

Whole bean or ground: which should I choose?

Whole beans stay fresh longest, so choose them if you have a grinder. Otherwise, choose Ground Espresso for espresso machines and moka pots, or Ground Filter for filter machines and pour-over. Ground Filter also works in a cafetière.

How much does delivery cost?

UK Standard delivery is free on orders over £30 and £3.55 below that. Express delivery is £4.45. We also deliver to the EU for £14.99 and to other countries for £23.99. See our Delivery page for details.

Can I collect my order?

Yes, by arrangement. Choose Pick up at checkout, then text us on 07428 118280 to agree a time. Collection is from 27 Cooperage Road, St Austell PL25 5SH.

Can I return coffee?

You can return unopened coffee within 14 days of receiving it. We can't take back opened bags unless they are faulty or we sent the wrong item. Mugs, clothing, candles and bags can be returned unused within 14 days. See our Refund policy for how.

How long do coffee beans stay fresh?

Most coffee tastes best from about a week to six weeks after roasting. Keep the bag sealed and away from heat and light. There's no need to keep it in the fridge.

What is CO₂ decaf?

Our Zibby decaf is decaffeinated with carbon dioxide under pressure, which draws the caffeine out of the green beans without chemical solvents. The flavour stays; most of the caffeine goes.

Is robusta stronger than arabica?

Yes. Robusta beans typically contain around twice as much caffeine as arabica, with a heavier, more chocolatey taste and thick crema. Our Nela is a Ugandan robusta, and our Kamcha house blend mixes Ugandan robusta with Brazilian arabica.

What is a peaberry?

Most coffee cherries hold two flat-sided beans. A small share hold a single round bean instead, called a peaberry. Our Colombian Peaberry is made only from these beans.

Do you offer a coffee subscription?

Yes. Choose "Subscribe and save" on any coffee to get it weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly, and save 15% on every bag. You can skip or cancel any time.

Where are you based?

We're a family business in St Austell, Cornwall, run by Kamil and Charlie. We roast in small batches on a 100% electric roaster that runs mainly on our own solar panels.

Why is it called Limak?

Limak is Kamil spelt backwards. In Cornwall it's popular to give your house a name spelt backwards, so we did the same with our coffee.
